Water-based timber treatment for fences & sheds (5L)

Palace Fenceguard is a water-based, low-odour timber treatment designed to provide attractive, long-lasting outdoor protection for rough-sawn timber. It dries to a water-repellent, UV-resistant finish that helps protect fences, sheds and other outdoor timber structures from rain and bright sunlight.

  • Water-repellent finish – dries to a protective film that helps reduce water ingress
  • UV-stable colours – oxide-based pigments help maintain colour outdoors
  • Low odour & water-based – more comfortable to apply; splashes are easier to clean from surrounding areas
  • Ideal for rough-sawn timber – perfect for fences, sheds and other rough outdoor garden constructions
  • Supplied in a 5L resealable tub – apply directly by brush

Colours available

Autumn Gold, Chestnut Brown, Forest Green, Lunar Grey, Red Cedar, Midnight Black.
Please note: the colour shown on the label is an approximate guide only.

Coverage & drying time

  • Coverage (1 coat): approx. 1 litre per 4–6 m² (depending on timber texture/porosity). A 5L tub covers approx. 20–30 m².
  • Drying time: typically 2–6 hours in warm conditions. Allow longer in cooler weather.
  • If applying a second coat, ensure the first coat is fully dry before recoating.

How to apply

  1. Prepare the surface: timber should be structurally sound, dry and free from loose coatings plus moss, lichen and algae.
  2. Apply: brush on evenly (spray application is also possible).
  3. Weather: avoid applying to timber saturated by rainfall, when rain is likely within 24 hours, or when temperatures are below 10°C.
  4. After application: keep children and pets away until the coating is completely dry.

Where to use / where not to use

Suitable for: rough-sawn fences, sheds and similar outdoor rough timber structures.

Not intended for: decking timbers, garden furniture, hardwoods or smooth-planed timber.
